Subwoofer, Once, when you are sitting in your seat hearing music and you have been shaken out of your seat by sound of bass that is the work of the subwoofer. In a surround sound the most important part of home theatre installations system is the bass.
You can buy speakers as a unit (separately), as there are many of complete audio system available in the market, it upon on you to decide on the best home theatre speakers and subwoofer which is match to your taste or style. But it is best for you to consider product which has already have a brand name in the market.
It is not impossible thing for you to find a best subwoofer, with a quality bass speaker; even you do not have an experience on choosing a good sound system. Basically when you are going to install home theatre speaker and sub woofer you will need one of a passive sub or an active woofer. An active sub has a separate power supply where as a passive subwoofer doesn’t need a separate power supply
An active subwoofer need powered amplifier which has built in subwoofer in order to boost the power going into subwoofer for larger and louder sound. Whereas a passive subwoofer no power amplifier in it. It takes power from another source usually it takes from home receiver or car receiver. The other difference is in set up, because an active subwoofer easier than a passive subwoofer. So if you are going an easy set up so you have to choose an active subwoofer because you just need on plug the cables.
Receiver and hook your speakers into it, then run the output from the DVD player to the Receiver. The larger the room, the more power in RMS Watt Output you will need. Since subwoofer produces the bass frequencies from 15Hz to 300Hz so it needs at least need 200 watts RMS. Best subwoofer usually has a response done to around 25Hz and is self-powered which means it has the amplifier built-in.
