Testing acoustically on home theatre is needed. Testing use for indentifying if there is or not problems with the placement. There are a few ways to do for testing, but the easy and simple is listening your favorite song or music albums. Some of test involves using a test tone CD. Basically what a test tone CD does is providing a selection of MP3 files that are compressed into a zip file, downloaded by the user, and unzipped before testing. MP3 tone files are played at one-second intervals and 1Hz increments; from 20Hz up to 200Hz or 400Hz. completing the test is time consuming and requires the use of a Sound Pressure Level meter. The Sound Pressure Meter reveals how loud each tested frequency is as well as where the peaks and nulls exist within the tested frequencies.

For doing test, you just simply plug a microphone into the internal input and allows a self-test to determine sound levels. As a testing tool, acoustical correction using an input microphone takes a range of frequencies and averages the energy of the tested frequency range from 100Hz up to 130Hz and provides a flat reading across the tested band wave. The downside is the averaging of a jagged frequency response with a lot of big peaks and nulls. The last clinical test is a filtered noise test that indicates problems with bass in the home theater room. The filtered noise test can help the home theater owner with the placement of bass traps to improve overall sound and enjoyment of the home theater environment.
