Subwoofer is a speaker which designed to produce the lowest range of audible of sound frequencies. So when sometime you need to buy subwoofer, kindly advised that you have to 
consider the space on which you are going to plan place the subwoofer. The other thing should you consider are what is the amount of power impedance or current resistance that your subwoofer need to operate, and beside that one that you should carefully consider is subwoofer’s ohm ratings which match to your sound system application specifications.
Because ohm ratings or level mean that how stand it resist to the flow of electricity within a circuit. In the case of subwoofer speakers, high resistance values or ohm levels means greater resistance to the flow of current in which the speaker operates and lower values means less resistance to current flow. A typical subwoofer may have a 4 to 8 ohm rating. The values may go as low as 2 ohms and as high as 30 or more ohms.
When we have actual circuit resistance or ohm values which are lower or higher than the speakers require, it would affect the quality of sound.
Of course opinions as to what is better than what or the best in anything are always a matter of preference.
